Native regeneration in the Chiquitano Forest

Together with the Fundación para la Conservación del Bosque Chiquitano (FCBC), we carried out an assisted natural regeneration project in areas affected by the 2024 wildfires.

After
the fire.

In 2024, Bolivia went through one of the most severe fire seasons in its history, with more than 12 million hectares affected1. The fires devastated forests, biodiversity and livelihoods across the Chiquitano region.

At the Santa Rita community lands and the Alta Vista Reserve, in the municipality of Concepción, we set up a science-based trial at scale, started pilot restoration sites and worked with local communities to carry the work forward.
